With more than 20 years of experience in accounting and nearly as many years serving as an Accounting Manager for a labor union, I have built my career around helping people, solving problems and creating meaningful solutions. Throughout my tenure with the union, my responsibilities extended far beyond financial management. I supervised staff, played a key role in mergers, developing and integrating benefit plans and led major computer system conversions and upgrades.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career was working directly with union members. During my time there, the organization grew from approximately 3,500 members to more than 12,000. Recognizing the value of my experience and member relationships, the union created a new position that allowed me to bring together my knowledge, while introducing new benefits and educational opportunities to members.
10 years ago, I started a new chapter. I am proud to be building my second career with New York Life, a role that combines everything I am passionate about: connecting with people, educating individuals and families and helping clients find financial solutions that align with their goals and needs. I chose New York Life because of its longstanding reputation for integrity, financial strength, and commitment to doing right by its policyholders. Those values are important to me, and they guide the way I serve my clients every day.
Beyond my professional life, I am deeply committed to my community. I serve on the Board of Directors of my local Chamber of Commerce, sit on the Board of the Association of Benefit Administrators, and actively volunteer with several charitable organizations that are close to my heart.
My purpose is clear: to help individuals, families, and businesses make informed financial decisions with confidence, supported by solutions they can trust.
I earned a BA in Accounting from The University of Rhode Island and began my career at Arthur Andersen & Co., the top Big 8 firm at the time. I was part of the Real Estate Group and my clients were mostly private estate owners as well as family investment offices. That experience was very valuable and I gained my Certified Public Accounting designation. I knew however that I wanted to work more directly with clients.
I refined my focus to private real estate advisory. I joined a start-up boutique firm during a time of scarcity of institutional liquidity. The distressed landscape gave rise to opportunistic real estate private equity investing. For the next 25 years, I built long-term multigenerational relationships with investors. My responsibility spanned all aspects of the business including structuring, accounting, tax preparation, banking, compliance and information technology, as well as reporting and personalized investor support. The company built on a successful model of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns through strategic investments in U.S. real estate and grew six-fold.
They say all good things come to an end and I again refocused my career towards providing, personal and trusted guidance. I decided I wanted to work more directly with clients to help achieve each unique financial goal. To me, this brings all I’ve learned and experienced together to help people and businesses gain peace of mind and plan for secure financial futures.
I chose the strength and history of New York Life to combine with my education and experience. The company mission aligns with mine to deliver peace of mind and financial security above all else. In the ever-changing and sometimes volatile financial landscape, I am proud to stand with families and businesses, providing stability and support in good times as well as challenging ones.
